Mock Trial Team Achieves Strong Results at Regional Competition

On March 18, the eighth grade Competition Mock Trial team from Howard T. Herber Middle School delivered an impressive performance at the Western Suffolk BOCES Mock Trial Competition, winning three out of four rounds and earning multiple honors for both legal preparation and courtroom performance.
The Defense team secured both Performance and Legal victories against Jericho, demonstrating strong command of case law, persuasive argumentation and effective courtroom strategy. The Prosecution team also earned a Performance win against Massapequa, showcasing confident delivery, teamwork and professionalism before the panel of judges.
Throughout the competition, students impressed evaluators with their ability to analyze complex legal issues, construct compelling arguments and present their cases with poise under pressure. Their success reflects months of preparation, collaboration and dedication to the Mock Trial program.
“Our students represented Malverne with exceptional pride and professionalism,” said Christine Comer, Mock Trial advisor. “Their preparation, teamwork and confidence in the courtroom were evident in every round.”
The Western Suffolk BOCES Mock Trial Competition brings together student teams from across the region to simulate real courtroom proceedings, providing participants with hands‑on experience in legal reasoning, public speaking and critical thinking.
Malverne School District congratulates all participating students and extends appreciation to the advisors, coaches and supporters who helped make this achievement possible.
